Tag!

Okay, I was tagged the other day - okay, a few days ago - okay, okay! - SEVERAL days ago... Anyhow, as I was saying, I was tagged by my good friend Brooke. The game is to answer the following questions, then tag five other friends with blogs to do the same - and of course they are to continue by tagging five other friends - well, you get the picture. It was kind of a fun exercise, although some questions were a bit tougher than they seemed at first. Here are my responses:

Total Books Owned: Haven’t got a clue. Closest I can get is – LOTS!

Last Book I read: AT BERTRAM’S HOTEL by Agatha Christie. I love Agatha Christie’s books, and I usually end up going through my large collection of them and re-reading them every couple of years or so. This is the year!

Book sitting on my coffee table I am planning on reading: You mean I’m supposed to be able to actually find a book on my coffee table? Under all that stuff? Hmm… Well, I did just happen to pick up Llewellyn’s 2005 WICCA ALMANAC the other day, and it is actually sitting on my coffee table! I am looking forward to diving into it, as it looks like there are some very good articles in it.

Five books that mean a lot to me: Wow, that is a tough one! I’ve read so many books that mean a lot to me. Interestingly enough, some of the ones that are most meaningful have been children’s books. Well, here are my five top picks:

THE HOBBIT and THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien. I have loved these books since I was quite young, and they are another set of books that I tend to pull out and re-read every now and again.

THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS by Kenneth Grahame. A truly charming children’s classic!

Anything by Agatha Christie. I find her books thoroughly charming, delightful, and even though I’ve read them many times over, I always find something that I missed, and they always get my brain working.

Anything by Scott Cunningham. Scott Cunningham was an author of books on Wicca, magick, etc. I love his style of writing, and when I began to study Wicca and witchcraft his were the first books I was guided to. I have most of his books, and am planning on getting the few that I don’t have. I find them to be an excellent resource and a wealth of information.

So far, anything by Anne Rice. I got highly involved in her Vampire Chronicles series, and have been collecting all of those books. I also got caught up in her Witches of Mayfair series, and am collecting those as well. I love the way she writes, and I love how she has developed her characters. I find her books truly fascinating, and can get completely lost in them for hours on end!

There are so many other books that are important to me – it was hard to pick just five. Okay, so I cheated and lumped several together…

Now - tag time!

I don’t have five people with blogs that I can tag – only one! So Judy, tag, you’re it! Answer the above questions on your blog, and tag five other people with blogs to do the same. Have fun!

It is hard to pick just a handful of books, huh! Especially when one's home contains a stash that any county library would be proud to call their own!
