Absolutely Tragic...

Here's something to put everyone's daily problems into perspective...

Tragic News

I first read about this this morning, and our receptionist and I were following updates on the radio all day - what a tragic and senseless event...

I knew as soon as I read the first bit of news that the officers were dead, but that was not confirmed until near the end of the work day. Thankfully the scumbag who did this removed himself from the gene pool afterwards - saved tax money for prison or the possiblity of someone else having his death on their conscience.

It just boggles my mind, that some scuzzy little sleazebucket drug supplier was able to destroy so many lives like this. Not to mention the lives he's destroyed through supplying drugs to begin with. But the officers, and their families and friends - along with probably every other police officer in the country - have been irrevocably and traumatically altered.

While I know they are certainly not at peace yet, I pray that the officers do find peace soon, as do their families, friends, and fellow officers on the force. May they have much healing and love sent their way.

And yes, I've prayed for healing for the scumbag drug dealer too. I always try to dredge up compassion on some level for even the most nasty individual, but there are times when it is very difficult to do - and this is one of those times. I also believe that everyone must pay the price for their actions - and in cases like this, the price is high indeed, and I believe that the individuals who make these kind of choices deserve to go through whatever nasty experiences they have coming to them in "payment". I do hope that his soul learns and grows from all of this, but frankly, I am far more concerned with sending healing energies to the officers, their families, friends, and fellow officers. As well as to the family of the man who did this.

It's occurred to me that there will be people out there (in the general public, I mean - not necessarily anyone reading this blog) who will be thinking "oh, he must have had such a horrid upbringing and life - it's not his fault." To that I say "bullshit". I have met people over the years who have had childhoods and experiences that even the worst horror movie could not come close to capturing. And while many of them do have problems, they certainly have not, nor will they ever, do anything like this. So for me, compassion - yes, to a degree. Excusing it and hoping that he gets an easy time of it in Spirit - not a chance.

Well, that's enough ranting about that. For some reason this is very close to me, and I have not figured out why yet. I have known a few people in the RCMP - some well, some not so well - so I am fervently hoping that none of the officers involved were anyone I had met through them - or God forbid, one of them. Well, one is retired, and I don't know about the others - it occurred to me that it would be horrid to see one of their names involved, even though I have not seen them for many, many years.

At first I thought it was close to me simply because I knew some people who'd been in the RCMP. But I realized right away that was not it. Then I wondered if it was due to the fact that it was so close to home. That was not it either. Then the thought that one (or more) of the officers might have been someone I had met before occurred to me - and that I'm not getting a sense one way or the other on at the moment. Hopefully that is not it either. But I'm sure in time it will become clear why this is so close to me.

Anyhow, have a good night everyone. I know that I am simply being thankful tonight that I am not personally having to deal with this issue, or one like it, and that my problems in life are not so large compared to what the spirits of the officers, and their family and friends are going through tonight. Peace, everyone...

Ooga Booga!

Okay, I believe I've mentioned in my profile that I'm a medium, which basically boils down to the fact that I spend a fair bit of time talking to and dealing with spirits. There are always spirits around the house - mainly family members and friends who have passed on. This is wonderful, in my view, and I'd be very disturbed if there weren't any here.

However, there are spirits around everywhere - not just in the house - which is also just fine by me. We have one at work who I must admit tends to amuse me now and again, and he just pulled another prank yesterday.

I guess a bit of background might be in order though. It wasn't long after I started with this company that I thought we had a spirit around. And that was confirmed when I was there alone after hours, and would hear someone moving around the office - sometimes downstairs where my office is, but most often upstairs. I could hear someone walking around, sometimes dropping things, and also dragging things. I could also feel a presence quite often out in the back bay - and I would also hear noises coming from there. So I sat down and tuned in one day, and found that yes there was a male spirit around. Cool, not a problem.

He never did much besides make noises and make his presence felt, until one day awhile back. A co-worker and I were out in the back bay having a smoke break, and the boss came in to use the washroom (the men's washroom is in the back bay). He left, and my co-worker and continued chatting. Suddenly we heard water running, and I figured someone was in the kitchen (on the other side of the wall from the men's washroom)and had turned the tap on. But the water kept running, and it sounded a bit too loud to be in the kitchen. So I went to open the door and check it out, then realized that the noise was coming from the men's washroom. The hot water tap had been turned on full blast, and was merrily gushing away. Now, we knew that the boss hadn't left the tap running, as we had actually heard it come on several minutes after he had left. And we knew that no one had gone in there after he did - no one human, at any rate!

The funniest part was that one of the other guys had to use the washroom shortly afterwards - and I had told him about our ghostly friend. He came out of the washroom and was laughing quite hard - he said that when he was washing his hands, a bunch of water suddenly came splashing out of the sink at him. He had a couple of quite wet spots on his shirt and pants from it. Startled the heck out of him, and there was no reason for it to have happened normally. He also proceeded to tell me that he'd come in to work a few times and found the tap in the men's washroom blasting away at full force. He just figured someone must have used it after work and forgot to turn it off, but we now suspect that is not the case.

Anyhow, that's the background on him - on to yesterday's episode! Once again, our little friend chose the men's washroom to play in. I was out back having a smoke break, and two of the field guys were there chatting with me. They had come in about 15 minutes earlier, and one of them had used the washroom then. After that, no one else had gone in there. As we were standing there chatting, we heard a loud bang - something had fallen. We all looked around trying to find out what it was, and suddenly I felt that I should check the bathroom. So in I went, and didn't notice anything unusual, until one of the guys came in behind me and said "oh, the toilet seat fell down." The one who had last used the washroom confirmed that it had not been down when he left - although as I pointed out to them, it's a men's washroom - it's not likely the seat would have been down! ROTFL

Anyhow... I felt that this was our ghostie playing tricks, but I didn't say anything to the guys. Although it was amusing watching their reactions. I think they were thinking along the same lines that I was - "If the seat was going to fall after the one guy had used the washroom, why would it have taken 15 minutes to do so?" Of course, it's possible that it could have simply been a coincidence, but I did feel that it was my little friend, and he's been a bit more active with the noises and stuff lately, so... At any rate, it was rather amusing, and as usual I can't wait to see what he does next!
